17 year-old girl, one summer, a city of 20 million, and an intensive Arabic program at the American University in Cairo. Cairo...according to Fodor's "is a city with a deeply human touch, unique among the megalopolises of the world. Gregarious and fatalistic, Cairenes give this city its warmth...there is hardly a superlative too vast to capture the epic scale...the chaotic rhythm will enforce this impression, threatening to overwhelm you." Well, I'm EXCITED.
Basking in the chaos of final prepations. Absolutely thrilled, for certain, but how contented stepping into 105 degree Cairene heat Saturday with an entirely new venue I will be.
Sasha's Dad here. We just got back from the airport, everything went smoothly. Sasha wanted to get through security before it got crowded, so we said our good-byes around 4:45. She was very content with here books, music, and half dozen or so electronic gadgets.
Here's a reply a week and a half too late. Ooops! Didn't peak back. Blogging is a blast. I feel cool too Ms Milbury. I can call myself a "blogger" with pride. Thank you for checking, and keep reading. Any requests or advice welcomed.
