Cairo 2005
17 year-old girl, one summer, a city of 20 million, and an intensive Arabic program at the American University in Cairo. Cairo...according to Fodor's "is a city with a deeply human touch, unique among the megalopolises of the world. Gregarious and fatalistic, Cairenes give this city its warmth...there is hardly a superlative too vast to capture the epic scale...the chaotic rhythm will enforce this impression, threatening to overwhelm you." Well, I'm EXCITED.

Sasha - It's wonderful to already get an update on your trip. Your photos are great and the explanations are evidence enough that you are certainly learning enough to justify missing out on the end of American Studies! We'll try to keep you posted on what's happening in Rm. 289, though... Ms. O'C
Shokrahn. I'll be thinking of you guys, WACing away in 103. Good luck to everyone! I'm defintely learning a lot here, every minute of every day is absorbing either a new cultural facet or of the infinite history of this city. It truly is amazing. And I'd definitely like to know how 289 is getting on.
And I am about to leave for the Egyptian Museum, right now. It would take a full year to see everything, but I winging it right now, in lieu of WACs, I have thousands of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
